Simon Le Bon Chronicles 7 – A State Affair
After the Brexit in 2019 the Great British Empire’s citizens had voted for me as their new leader. As first official act I had sent Teresa May and the rest of the parliament into Gulag and replaced them with my relatives and friends. On Christmas Eve’s Teresa was allowed to go out and serve us dinner at our party. We painted her a clown’s mouth.
I had not much difficulties to implement my vicious dictatorship- all the infrastructures had been planted and built years ago: Total observation combined with the subjects’ will to voluntary exposure, politics of fear and terror, a daily life of sedatives and distraction, and much much more.
We were facing an unusual streak of terrorist attacks and demonstrations that were orchestrated by ourselves, so it was not so unusual after all. Nevertheless my answer would be relentless and of unseen cruel dimensions which would secure my spot in the history books. I made a deeply personal list of people to be thrown into jail and torture chambers, starting with old teachers and other enemies.
The workers had just finished the special chamber attached to my bedroom. It was a small room with walls of red velvet and golden ornaments. In the middle of the room there was a luxurious and inviting king-size bed with silk and velvet covers and cushions. Other than that and a food and vitamin station at one corner, the room was empty.
I looked at my ‘Enemies of the State’-list and dreamily drew red hearts around the top spot:
